To date\, the Nature Preserve has placed over 100 acres of land into permanent protection. This land incorporates a variety of unique habitat types\, including a 5\,000-year-old\, peat moss bog. SHADOW's community engagement\, education programs\, and volunteer events welcome nearly 3\,000 local residents each year\; including 1\,500 students. At SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve we believe that conservation is a community-wide effort. The generous support of our community and volunteers makes it possible for SHADOW to advance our mission. To express our gratitude to this community\, the Nature Preserve is throwing a party! SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve will host the 22nd Annual Frog Frolic\, on Saturday\, September 15th from 1:00 5:00 PM.
