DESCRIPTION:Join business leaders and fellow chamber members at this informative luncheon. Our speaker is  Michael Teal. Michael Teal was named vice president\, chief project engineer and deputy program manager for the 737 MAX in August 2011. He is responsible for the safety\, product integrity\, configuration\, design and airplane performance on the 737 MAX\, as well as ensuring the product compliance to regulatory standards and requirements. In addition to his chief project engineer role\, as deputy program manager\, he assists the 737 MAX program manager in leading the program. \n\nPrior to this assignment\, Teal held the position of vice president\, chief project engineer for the 747-8 Freighter and Intercontinental airplanes with similar roles and responsibilities held today on the 737 MAX.  \n\nTeal began his career in the Structures Engineering Department of Boeing Commercial Airplanes in July 1986. His first assignment was a stress engineer on the 757 program\, then spent several years on the development of the 777. Teal went on to hold several engineering positions within Boeing Commercial Airplanes. In Feb. 2001\, he became chief structures engineer for the 747 program\, a responsibility that later expanded to include the 747\, 767 and 777.\n\nTeal has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Wisconsin. Michael lives in Renton with his wife Pam and has two sons\, one of whom also works at Boeing.
